ZOMBIE BLOODBATH 3:
UNDEAD ARMAGEDDON
Letter from Todd Sheets
to Cast, Crew and Zombies
As we near the end of actual shooting on the film, I have taken some time to reflect and I must say thank you to you guys. You have made Zombie Bloodbath 3 the absolute best filming experience of my career so far. The best time I ever had on a film before this was Zombie Bloodbath 1 and The Shivers, but you all have made this one so great. We have all been on an adventure on this one, from insane hick town community centers to paint ball maniacs shooting us in deep underground caves.
First let me congratulate the new members of our Extreme community acting troupe. Curtis, Jen and Phil, you guys all surpassed my expectations and have done a great job above and beyond the call of duty. I thank you for the late nights and the long hours. I thank you for being brave and for giving me 100%. Curtis, hang in there bud - those late night cell phone arguments you were having on set had us all worried that you were dating Satan, but through it all, you did a great job acting and never let it show. Jen, you were worried and nervous as hell that first night, but you quickly snapped into the groove and have been improving ever since. Phil, what can I say about you? You are a new action hero, a great guy and always smiling. Your good attitude spread among everyone. Welcome to all of you.
Now let's talk about our veteran actors and actresses.... Ruth, you are so damned talented it amazes me. Your face is so expressive and you worked your ass off to give me an actual character on this film. You made me very proud. Your hubby Abe, as always, had me in stitches the entire film. Seriously Abe, you are so dear to me in many ways. I love having you around on the set. You always keep us guessing and your performance on this film was and is outstanding. It was not easy to keep that level of intensity going all night, but you did it. I simply don't wanna make a movie if you aren't in it. Jolene, you have grown beyond words. You have become a key member in the behind-the-scenes group. And your acting has floored me here. You did so much in that scene with Ruth. It was a pleasure watching you two make those words and feelings come alive. You did it girl. I am so proud of you. Jenni, through a hectic schedule and a million emotional trials, you have been strong and there for me, as always. You have come full circle, starting on the first and still going on the last. You have been in all my films in between, and your dedication, loyalty and belief always strengthens me. Thank you. Rico, you know how I feel, but let me say a few things... under the pressure you have been having, and even through that one misunderstanding, I want you to know that I feel like we are family. You always make me laugh in even the roughest time. I love just listening to you slam on Antwoine, and I respect and think so highly of you. You are one in a million... a great husband to your wife, father to your kids, actor for us and friend to me. I appreciate it. Antwoine, as always you seem to have too much going on to really focus, but you did a great job on the film. If only I could get you to focus as much on your acting career as your goofy dancing one, we'd be OK. As always, your loyalty and your love of stunts and fight scenes always pushes me into new areas and I thank you for that. Blake Wasker, you crazy freak of nature. You brought the exact humor and edge to the character that I knew you'd bring when I was writing it for you. You are a talented guy with great ideas... our future is still being determined and I feel good about us working together for many years to come.
I want to thank "Pappy" Jerry Norris for all his help and assistance. Poor Jerry always has a hell of a time, and his illness in the second half of shooting is unfortunate. We have missed you and we thank you for always backing us up... and for taking the heat when Antwoine goofs up. Brenna, thank you for being so together, for setting up locations with me, for calling people, for being you. I loved you being my assistant on the film. You have been the best one I have ever had. You may have forgotten one or two things, but you always made up for that by being so good at what you do. Thank you for your loyalty also.
The make-up crew... you guys were on it! Great job guys! You cranked out the zombies like an assembly line, quick and fast and they all looked great. I look forward to all the new projects we may do together. It was fun and I think we all learned from it. Thanks for being so on the ball.
I wanna thank all our zombies, a fun bunch that really knew what I wanted and also really knew how to have fun. You guys were great, always quiet when you needed to be, but absolutely crazy when I wanted it. You all took direction well, and your patience and attitudes were all appreciated. A few of you crazy undead folk have become good friends (Tim, Stu - Ehren, Jeslyn, Bill) and will work with us again. Good job guys... I'll see you at the movies!
And last... my partner Brian. Man, I have got to say it loud and proud... you gave me a new interest in all of this when things were really down. You frustrate the hell out of me at times, but you are a godsend in many ways. You let me scream like a tyrant in editing, you listen to my bitch sessions and you let me be me. I can turn to you and tell you what I need and you get it done in post-production. Your patience with me is appreciated Bri. I am a pain sometimes with my single strong vision, but you always back me up. You came along at a great time and your interest, enthusiasm and input helped me find that part of me that I had lost. You have become one of the best friends I have ever had or will ever have in my life. I do not want to make movies without you Bri... you are a crazy Viking from hell, and the term "put a fire under your butt" should be "put a raging inferno under your whole being" but you and I are a great team. We work well together, and I am so glad I found someone I can trust again. I had given up on finding a partner that was worthy... thanks for showing me good people are out there. Now you, Rico, Antwoine, Jolene and I have all joined as partners (even if you still need to -UH-HUM- get some paperwork in order), I feel that our bond is even stronger. You and I will lead this ship into the sea of the future... and I'll gross em out, and you can go off and make dramas, but we'll always meet in the middle with a Pizza and a smile...
Thank you guys... for helping me take the images and words in my crazy head and making them reality, for fighting and standing by me to make our dreams come true. I bow to you in appreciation and in praise. You guys all make me proud.
Your pal,
Todd
